Safeguarding Yourself In A Secure Distance From An Assailant

By Benry K Henvenutti

He was much larger when compared with me and also had a knife. Plus, he had me cornered. Thus, like the dude mentioned, I wasn't going at any place. And, considering that I didn't stand a chance against him, I had better give my own wallet. Now. Sure, I said, not a problem, and reached into my very own pocket.

A couple of seconds later, the criminal was howling on the pavement, grasping his own arm, and I was on my mobile phone, contacting 911. He was still holding his arm in the backseat of the patrol vehicle which hauled him off to the pen. Another win for one of the best weapons for personal defense that I know.

I didn't surrender my wallet. I offered him precisely what he deserved, a hard whack on the arm with one of those self defense batons. I received a new one from my girlfriend last Christmas.

She knows that I love batons more than guns for self-protection. Guns are good at enabling you to defend oneself while keeping your distance. Batons can perform the same and aren't likely to kill.

Telescopic batons are much better, in a couple of ways. As these are shorter compared to regular batons whenever collapsed, these are easier to tote around or keep in the house. Whenever completely extended, these are more than regular batons.

I only flicked my wrist and my 21 inch rubber handle steel baton shot out to complete size, making it very easy to whack that robber's arm. Its rubber grip makes it comfortable for me to carry and this is available with a foam handle, too.

The handle makes it much easier to grip. My very own baton even includes a neat heavy-duty nylon holster, that I occasionally use.

Just seeing you holding a baton can make a criminal change his own plans. The best weapons for self defense are the types you end up not having to use. But if you have to use your own baton, it is not important if he is big or holding a knife. The guy will not stand much of a chance towards it.
