mma chicago

Specialized. Detailed. Exceptional.

These are mma chicago words that will students of Pedro Vianna work with when describing his design of jiu jitsu. A 3 rd degree black belt below Carlson Gracie Jr as well as Marcelo Alonso, Pedro has spent over 25 many years of his life understanding the art of surface mma chicago fighting. His teaching style emphasizes attention to detail, using the body within mma chicago the most efficient way possible, and physical fitness.

Address:

Pedro Vianna BJJ and MMA
2128 North Milwaukee
Chicago, IL
(773) 756-7889

Instructor(s):

Pedro Vianna- finally Degree mma chicago BJJ Black Belt, Judo Black Belt (and owner of among the best behaved dogs I have ever met)

Daniel Vianna- BJJ Black mma chicago Belt

Facility:

Very large Mat Space

The academy is mma chicago very easy and does not have a million special features. It is a uncomplicated mat space, but There is that the most uncomplicated gyms are where mma chicago champions are produced. No distractions.

I'll note here that this mats are much mma chicago smoother here than inside my home gym. They seem to allow for a much faster game and I felt not as likely to hurt myself on them when rolling really challenging.

When I visited Rodrigo Medeiros' BJJ Revolution gym in Hillcrest last year, the feel was nearly the same as Pedro Vianna's gym. A lot of these gyms are less about the facility and much more mma chicago about the quality involving instruction. This gym has it in spades.

Yes, Pedro is very, top notch.

My experience:

The class was its own Saturday class where a large group of my team had an exchange using Pedro's team and all of us travelled to his academy to learn.

The warm-ups were mma chicago traditional and included jogging as well as stretching (including some I've got not done before).

The class was comprised of many white and azure mma chicago belts, two purple belts, as well as three black belts.

Technique for the day was taught by Pedro as well as Daniel. Both offered extremely top quality instruction with lots of detail. Pedro's English is ideal and his instruction was obvious (the same is true for Daniel). I desire to mention this because Andre's English is also very good but I've got trained with other B razil instructors whose English was not as good and it turned out difficult to understand. That's not the case here.

Our first technique was a slick setup to get a 2-on-1 from standing. We hit a nice duck-under into a lateral drop to get a great takedown and pin number position. The high quality of judo instruction suggestions evident. I've trained with Pedro previously and even at pink belt, I am mma chicago undoubtedly a beginner with judo. Pedro's judo instruction is fantastic.

The second technique was a smash pass contrary to the scissor sweep. My technique was already good with that move mma chicago but I was fixed multiple times about looking to pass too fast and not keeping pressure. For that pass, pressure > rate.

Also I was reminded to be able to slide my knee out then put the other in the centre. Doing it the reverse way breaks your posture. Great detail.

With simply two techniques taught, I mma chicago will be still able to remember important information about each and did not feel overwhelmed with the instruction.

The sparring was intense and safe as well as competition was encouraged through. We were able to be able to roll with anybody all of us chose and I was chosen to roll using Daniel first. Daniel rolled with a great deal of control and allowed me to escape and move through jobs.

Needless to say, he made me feel like it was my first day within the mats and I have a true appreciate for the particular level that he and Pedro have reached. They both rolled with several students, which is something I appreciate. It was an honor to be asked to roll by a black belt, especially as a visitor. I am sure that if you visit, a similar will be true to suit your needs.
